Victory!!!

BYU blocked a field goal in the last second to win the Las Vegas Bowl. We had a lot of fun with all the family over and plenty of food. The only thing lacking was more offense by the cougs. Already looking forward to next year.

Christmas Card

No offense to those who sent us Christmas cards this year, but I decided to post the most clever letter. This is one that you will enjoy even if you don't know the family. You will have to click of the letter to bring it up bigger so you can read it. Enj0y.

Coaching

I decided to help coach again this year even though I'm thin on time, (I've got to be thin somewhere). I have a lot of fun working with the boys. We are off to a good start. We are 5-1, our only loss coming from Carey in our first game. We beat Hansen last night by about 35 points. The varsity is also having a pretty good year so far. They have a good chance of leading the conference this year.
I still haven't thrown a chair yet, but that is my goal.

Enjoying December

We are enjoying our favorite time of year. It is extremely busy, but we make time for our traditions. After Thanksgiving we have a decorating the tree party. We've been doing this since we were married. Walker has been asking, " how many more sleeps until Christmas" since the middle of November. He's already seen Santa 3 times and has asked for something different each time. Whitney doesn't want much, just a real puppy and a real laptop. Wendy has been busy making Christmas Goodies for the neighborhood and then some. The girls have been performing, and I have been coaching. Looking forward to being with all the family for the Holidays.

Veterans Day

The elementary school put on a program for Veterans day. It was very well done. You will notice Kori on the far left in white. You will also notice Dad in the audience, (he's the bald one).

Memories from the pumpkin patch

Just some memories from the pumpkin patch, my favorite is Dad trying to teach us how it's done in the bean bag toss.

Halloween Town

Just a few pictures from halloween. Kelby and her friend Whitney dressed up as 80's chicks. I told them they looked good! Kelby told me that is what all the guys my age are telling them. My favorite costume that I saw that night was Heidi Bench.

I've been tagged

Kevin is in Colorado so I guess I will respond to the tag. We don't have six contacts. What's our problem? So I tag the whole Morrison gang. We need to add some contacts. We are seriously lame!
Here goes......
1. I am obsessed with walking. I wear my pedometer everyday. It's a sickness I know. I too am an all or nothing personality. I can't do anything halfway or I just won't do it. I am trying to work on that though. Anyway, last Christmas KaeLynn got a pedometer for Christmas and was telling me how great it worked to motivate. Well, because of some horrible back issues I had not been exercising at all and feeling more and more horrible everyday. So I thought, what the heck. I hurt whether I am exercising or not. So I took the leap. It's amazing. I feel so great. My back is so much better. Still hurts, but I couldn't even roll over in bed without waking up in pain. And the bonus was that I lost weight. I can't believe how well this has worked for me. I know for some it hasn't worked as well. I think you have to be OCD to really be successful with the pedometer. And I am the Queen of OCD.
2. I love Christmas. I have 4 full size Christmas trees that I put up in my house. Kevin thinks I'm insane. Where on earth would he ever get an idea like that? I have one in the front living room, one in the main family room, one in the downstairs family room and one in......yes, the bedroom. It's very romantic. We start listening to Christmas Music and watching Christmas Shows on Nov. 1st. I Christmas Shop all year. The day after Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days of the year. Yes, I am one of those freaks that get up at 4:00 a.m. and love every minute of it. I do the 24 days of Christmas for my kids(just little things like candy or a pencil or something like that) And I do the 12 days of Christmas for Kevin. We've been together for almost 17 Christmases and have done it since the beginning. There is an original poem for everyday that goes with a gift. So I have written 192 poems for Kevin since we have been married. I love it. He is the most amazing person.
Thank heavens that Kevin is almost as big of a Christmas freak as I am. It would be very sad to not be able to share the excitement. Kevin still can't sleep on Christmas Eve. We get up at 5:00 am. (Growing up, my family got up at 3:00am.) We are very lucky that both of our parents love the holidays so much. Christmas Eve is our favorite time. We have a big dinner and then we do the Nativity with handmade puppets that Deb made for me a few years ago. They are a treasure. There is a script from the scriptures along with songs. What a beautiful time. Then of course there are the new pajamas that the kids act surprised about. Heavy sigh! I love Christmas.
3. I love shooting action Photography. I love most all photography, but I love doing the action stuff. My favorite is football. I have started shooting some for the Times News and the South Idaho Press. I shoot all of Oakley's football games. What a riot. I am still learning alot. I've been doing this for 4 years and still feel like I will never get completely comfortable with my knowledge. But I do love it. I started doing the football last year. I owe Craig alot for all the help and patience he has shown me.
4. I'm scared to death of Dogs, Bees(hornets, wasps etc.), and spiders.
5. I am a professional shopper. It is also a sickness. You thought I was joking about the OCD.
I know how much everything costs, who has the lowest price. I never pay full price for anything. It's pretty sad that something I am so good at does not promote world peace or something substantial. I guess we can't all be Al Gore. And yes, that was said with a heaping dose of sarcasm.
6. Lately, I have really been into the family preparedness issue. I'm not in panic mode, just motivated. We have along way to go, but it feels so good to look at the shelves and see them slowly filling up. Which is also tough, because remember... I am one of those all or nothing kind of people. Have a great day!

Conference Champions

Oakley played Hagerman last night in the game of the week. Both were undefeated, and the game was for the conference championship. Oakley mercy ruled them early in the 4th quarter, winning 54-8. This is the fifth straight game they have mercy ruled, and the first time they were scored on in 4 games. The game was played in a solid down pour of rain through out the evening. It was a fun game to watch, if you are into wet and cold (craig would have loved it). They now will host the first playoff game on November 2. GO HORNETS!!

This is Kylee at Friday night's half-time performance. Yes, she is sticking out her tongue. Very cute military number to a Looney Tunes arrangement. It's been so much fun to watch her enjoy her drill team experience so much. She has been helping with some of the choreography for there competition numbers this year. And she was selected for their small dance competition number again which is quite an honor. She has fantastic coaches who really treat her great. We are very lucky!

Delphie withdrawl

We've been puppysitting for my sister Lucille this weekend. Thatcher is his name and he looks just like Delphie. It's breaking my heart to see Walker with him. This afternoon he spent hours just laying out in the grass with him. It's been a treat for us to have Thatcher stay with us. The kids have had a blast with him. It will be sad to send him home.

Sunday, October 14, 2007

Well, we attempted a family picture today. Why is it that the photographer can only get a family picture done every three or four years? Well, we didn't quite get the family picture but here are the kids. See how great they look? If you could only have an audio feed in for the two hours prior to this picture being taken as well as while it was being taken. You would have a whole new impression and appreciation of this picture. Calgon! Take me away!

Kelby

Kelby showing her team spirit. She is also playing Volleyball again this year and has done a great job. She gets up at 5:15 every morning for practice. Kelby also just got new contacts. If you look close you might be able to see them.

Oakley Homecoming

The traditional homecoming activities in Oakley..........parade, burning of the dummy, and the football game. Oakley finally took revenge on Raft River, beating them for the first time in many years. Oakley is now undefeated and looking unbeatable. Go hornets!!!

Powder Puff

Kylee, thinking she is the next John Beck.

New pics of Whit and Walker

FHE at the care center

We were assigned to do a Family Home Evening at Parkview. It was a good experience for all.

Going to Mom & Dad's Mission to pick them up

This was Mom and Dad's last day at camp. We went and picked them up and made a day out of it. Everybody had a good time.

Chasing Fires

The First Sunday in September our South Hills caught on fire from a lightning strike. We decided to go pick up mom and dad and go for a sunday stroll and get a closer look. We ended up getting closer than we intended.

Selling the lambs

Yes, I am playing catch up here. Sorry it has been awhile since I've posted. I will try to fill you in a little at a time here, but I have to go back a few weeks here. The girls did a great job with their 4-H projects. They all got blue ribbons and made some good money. Picketts bought Kylee's, Beck's bought Kelby's, and DL Evans bought Kori's. We were grateful for them being so gracious. I'm sure they will look back on this experience with fond memories, but they are happy it's over.

An old Elementary School Picture I found

Our Summer Vacation in Oklahoma

Here is how we spent most of our Summer. Wendy and Christy did a great job directing the show. It could end up being the biggest show yet for OVAC. Wendy also played Aunt Eller, and the Kylee, Kelby, and Kori were also cast members. In fact we are probably related to 75% of the cast. I was able to help out occasionally with the sound, so we were all involved. Walker's favorite song was "I'm just a girl who caint say no", and he would always walk around the house singing it. It was a good show and we had a lot of fun with it, but we are also glad it's over.

Rabbit Food

Last Saturday Night, Walker, Whitney & I drove up to Jared Mitton's place and met Kerry and Hayden, Jared, and Mark and few of his boys and we hunted Jack Rabbits out of Jared's fields. We ended up slaughtering about 50 rabbits by the end of the evening. We also got a big rattle snake. That took out some of the fun.

During the hunt, Walker kept complaining that he wanted to go home because he had to go pottie. I told him to just go in the sage brush. He attempted several times, but he kept looking around like someone was going to get him, then he would hear the gun shots and hurry and pull his pants back up. This happened many times, and I finally asked, "what are you afraid of, why don't you just hurry up and go?", He patted his manhood and replied "Do rabbit's eat these?"

Happy Birthday Kevikan!!!

Another Day at the Airport

Just got back from Denver today. This is a picture of the security lines in Denver. Must be summertime. The week went well, except for getting food poisoning. It was a good thing I had a GPS, so I could find an emergency bathroom exit while I was traveling.
