A Look Back......Summers Top 10

#1. Sorry Family that the reunion didn't make number one, but the US Open in San Diego was a once in a lifetime event that I had to rank at the top of my summer. Thank you to my wife for surprising me last winter with this great trip.

#2 We had a great Family reunion in Oakley this summer, always fun to be with all the family. Steadman's was a hit, and I still can't believe we got mom to go down the waterslide.

#3 The kids have been working all year on the Youth Cultural Celebration, celebrating the dedication of the Twin Falls Temple. We appreciated all their hard work and especially their leaders time and expense they sacrificed. It was a great event and had an opportunity to listen to the Prophet and then perform for him.

#4 We went to McCall for the Idaho Funeral Service Convention and we stayed at the main lodge on the Payette Lake. Rooms were great, and you couldn't beat the atmosphere. Kids had a great time playing in the lake catching minnows. Wish Kylee and Kelby were there with us, but they were at a dance camp.

#5 4-wheeling. We've been on quite a few trips this summer. This is a picture of Ky and I on her very first date. We rode up through the city of rocks and then ate at a steak house for lunch. Wendy and I did this several times this year and we love getting out on the 4-wheelers.

Summer Top 10 continued

#6 Fishing with the kids. It's so nice living in Oakley, we can jump on the 4-wheeler and be up to the dam in 10 minutes. We went out several times and were able to catch a few fish. This is a picture of a couple big ones that Kori caught. She was pretty proud. Whitney keeps her distance. She didn't like to hold the pole because she was afraid she would catch one.

#7 Just like old times. Went up to a spot by south cottonwood and roasted a hot dog. What's a summer without a campfire?

#8 Rodeo's. We had our share of Rodeo's this summer, but the ultimate rodeo was Kylee riding a bull for 8 seconds and taking 2nd place at the Oakley Celebration.

#9 It was pretty exciting sitting out on our front porch and watching Todd Hale fly by in an F-16. Quite a rush. Here he is flying over Mickelsen's house.

#10 Can't forget about the lambs. The kids were involved with 4-H again this year and it took up quite a bit of time getting them ready for the fair. They all did a good job.

Ky,Kelb & Hay at BYU Football Camp

What an experience! These girls had a blast. Their only complaint was that they didn't get to play enough.
When Kylee heard about this camp two months ago she about went nuts. She wanted to go so bad. Kelby was very reluctant but decided she probably needed to understand the game a bit better since she is going to be a High School Cheerleader this year. Anyway, it didn't take much to talk Hayley Greenwell(Morrison) into going as well. And all it took for Stacy(Hayley's mom) and myself to get talked into it was the words "shopping trip." So off we went. What a trip! We didn't starve that is for sure. But the girls had a riot. The were able to get autographs and pictures with several notables. They loved the drills. And to be there on the field was awe inspiring at the very least. Stacy, who knows football inside and out since her husband is the Oakley Hornet Defending State Champs Head Coach, admits she doesn't know much about BYU Football. She was a bit overwhelmed with the hoopla. She said," I feel like I'm in another universe." But standing there mid field on the fifty yard line taking pictures of my daughters playing at Lavell Edwards Stadium was awesome. The girls dug in a went to work. Even Kelby as nervous as she was did a great job. She was a natural at the knee lifts since she is our little hurdler. Some of these pictures include: Max Hall and Dennis Pitta, both All-Americans, Brandon Doman, former BYU QB and current QB coach, and Head Coach Bronco Mendenhall.
What an experience! Kevin would have been going crazy. There were some great shirts there but the best shirt I saw was "Pooh on "U"". That was for you Amy. Go Cougs!!!!
